LIGNE DE VIE
It is through the framework of the integration of arts into architecture and government and public spaces that Nicolas Baier was selected to create this luminous piece. This project, located at Montreal University’s Hospital Center (CHUM), consists of a lighting device applied along the railing of the lengthy circulation axis.
The artwork is composed of LEDs arranged in a certain pattern which activates based on regular frequencies. The entirety is then covered by a diffuse film coating. The pattern is revealed little by little as light courses through it.
The beat of light journeys and evolves along approximately 500 feet, starting from Viger entrance, though Saint-Denis and into the interior halls. The lifeline completes its course over 4 minutes as it captivates the user’s attention.
